Daylight assault on elderly woman

South Western Times

Police have appealed for assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the robbery of an 80-year-old woman in Bunbury on Tuesday.

The Bunbury woman had parked her car in angle parking in Stephen Street at 9.30 am when she realised she had left something in the car.

As she reached into the car through the passenger side door, she was pushed from behind, injuring herself as she fell into the car.

Her bag was snatched from her shoulder as she fell.

When she stood back up she found her bag had been dropped on the footpath and her purse, containing a quantity of cash, stolen from inside it.

Police urge anyone who may have seen the incident or have any information as to those might be responsible for this cowardly attack on a vulnerable woman, to please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
