
Australind police are investigating an opportunistic theft of an Eaton Fair shop owner’s briefcase yesterday.
Police allege about 4.30pm three offenders entered Eaton Fair Lottery Centre & News and left with the briefcase, which was hidden behind a shop counter.
Australind police officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Mark Smith said the incident happened while staff were busy serving customers.
He said three woman allegedly involved were seen leaving in a bronze or gold Mitsubishi Magna sedan with the number plate 1EMB677.
Police are today looking at closed-circuit TV footage at the shopping centre.
Sen. Sgt Smith said the shop owner had unfortunately exposed himself to a bit of risk in what he described as an opportunistic crime.
