Police in Margaret River have seized a motorbike after the rider was allegedly clocked doing 132km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police will allege the rider was speeding along Bussell Highway at 9am this morning through a 60km/h road works zone.

The road normally has a speed limit of 80km/h.

The 29-year-old male rider will be summonsed for reckless driving and his motorcycle has been impounded for 28 days.

Margaret River police tweeted a warning to drivers, urging them to “keep yourself and others safe and slow down in the South West”.

The news follows revelations from The West Australian yesterday that a teenager’s car had been impounded by police after he was allegedly caught driving at 87km/h through a school zone.

The 17-year-old Marangaroo boy was charged with one count of reckless driving and will face court in May.
