Rugby league lovers were treated to plenty of action on Sunday at Ferndale Park, with the South West Nines showcasing the game’s bright future in the region.

On the back of 2020 NRL Nines held in Perth last month, NRL WA operations manager Tony Crowe and game development staff brought the dynamic concept to Dalyellup in a bid to grow the game throughout the southern corridor.

Taking part in the three-team carnival were the Bunbury Bulls, Dalyellup Rhinos and Mandurah Storm, although the carnival was based purely on development rather than overall results.

Crowe, who holds an impeccable record of delivering rugby league programs across Queensland and WA, said he would remain committed towards growing the profile of the game and encouraged those who may have moved to the South West recently to become involved with their closest club.
