WA Police’s South West District is encouraging parents and children to practice safe trick or treating for Halloween tonight.

People are encouraged to plan a route, keep to well-lit areas, never accept a lift from a stranger and only to visit homes that have indicated they wish to participate in the traditional custom.

Authorities are also encouraging everyone to take into account weather conditions, with heavy rain and wind predicted throughout the remainder of the day.
