Sides gear up for epic clash
One of the hardest periods for a football coach can be the week of the grand final, due to the several conversations which might have to take place.
Due to the fact SWFL clubs have big senior lists, not every member of each squad is guaranteed a spot in the final team.
Both Lions coach John Baggetta and Boomers coach Brett Maguire told the South Western Times they would be open and upfront with all of their players in the lead up to the game, to minimise the natural disappointment for those who have been unlucky to be selected.
Our football writers have put their heads together and put forward an educated guess on how both Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault and the Eaton Boomers will line up in the SWFL league grand final.
One man who should command a lot of attention will be Lions forward Sean Bradley, who hasn’t skipped a beat since arriving from his WAFL stint at Subiaco.
Baggetta praised Bradley’s gut running during his side’s training run last Sunday and marvelled at the sheer ease yet selfless nature with which the big man went about his business.
The Boomers will be hopeful both Matthew Scott and Herman Humphries have recovered from injuries last week.
Check out the latest edition of the South Western Times for the complete list of likely lineups.
