A Western Power spokeswoman said it could be days before the power was back on.

About 5,000 homes and multiple traffic lights are without power across the city.

The Australind train has been cancelled and replaced by buses because of excess debris and malfunctioning boom gates.

Bunbury Police officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Peter Jenal urged motorists to drive safely in the conditions.

``People need to be vigilant at home and get rid of loose objects that could fly around,’’ he said.

``Report any damage to emergency services and stay safe.’’

Sen. Sgt Jenal urged people report damage to the police and to instead call FESA and the SES.
