Transport key part of future

BUDGET NEWS: Bunbury City Council has made transport infrastructure a critical part of its 2016-17 Budget, allocating $7.3 million for upgrades.
A big chunk of that includes the $5.1 million allocated for the Koombana Drive upgrade, but Mayor Gary Brennan has welcomed other smaller projects which he said would benefit the community.
“It is vital that we make a significant investment in the city’s infrastructure as we have an obligation to ensure our assets are at the appropriate high level,” he said.
Also included is $813,000 for upgrades to intersections at Parade Road and Koombana Drive and $826,00 for the path network.
