WANL 2022: Souwest Jets looking forward to next challenge against Rangers following round one loss

After falling short to the Curtin Hamersley Comets during their season opener, the Souwest Jets are looking forward to bouncing back in their next challenge.
The Jets will be hosting another home game this weekend at Eaton Recreation Centre when they take on the Rangers during the second round of the 2022 WANL season.
Head coach Karly Guadagnin said the team was looking forward to having another home game as they continued to go back to their roots.
“It would be great to have a good crowd again this week which would be awesome,” she said.
“We really love coming back to where our roots are and playing in front of our families so we really want to come back for a better game this week than we did last week.”

Guadagnin said the squad was excited about the next challenge against the Rangers after having solid training sessions throughout the week.
“We had a great week on the track, had a good review on Monday and then we put our intensity into our training which was great to see,” she said.
“We worked on changing a few things up on the court which we needed to do during the game last weekend.
“We just really need to come out on our A-game on Saturday and really focus on us at our best individually and as a group.
“We’re really looking to come in firing for round two to play in front of our people and hopefully get the four points this week.”

Guadagnin said it was likely the team line-up for Saturday’s match would be similar to last weekend’s line-up as they continued to wait on a medical clearance for Sophie Eastaugh.
Meanwhile the Rangers will be looking to start building a winning streak after holding off the East Freo Sharks 62-51 last weekend.
The last time the Jets and the Rangers met was in July last year when the Jets held off the Rangers 50-47 in a thrilling contest.
Saturday’s fixture will kick off with the 20/U team taking on the Rangers from 4.45pm while the senior match will take place from 6.30pm.
