World Cup visits Bunbury
RUGBY League fans got a fantastic experience today when the sport’s biggest prize, the the Paul Barrière Trophy visited trophy today.
Ahead of the start to this weekend’s junior competition, the World Cup Trophy made a special visit to a number of schools before finishing its trip at the Hay Park Multisports Pavillion for a civic reception.
The Rugby League World Cup will be co-hosted by Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea from October 27 to December 2.
Perth will get a taste of the action when a European double-header featuring England against France and Ireland taking on Wales takes place at NIB Stadium in Perth on November 12.
The junior competition kicks off in the region this weekend, with teams from Bunbury, Dalyellup, Eaton, Busselton and Australind to compete this year.
