Classy trainer reinsman Shane Young guided his filly Miss Merit to a comfortable win by 10.5m over Liaurie in the Tabtouch - Better Your Industry Fillies and Mares MS Pace (2100m) at Donaldson Park last night.

Despite punters having warmed to Aiden De Campo’s red-hot favourite Khalessi Of Luck prior to the race, the three-year-old took control with one and a half laps to go and refused to buckle when challenged.

Later in the evening, driver Emily Suvaljko piloted Perlee Gates to victory in the Tabtouch Stream Racing Live SS Pace (2503m), which marked her third win with the four-year-old.

Check out tomorrow’s South Western Times for a complete rundown of the meeting.
