Yuill booked to replace Warwick in Hyperion Stakes

Bunbury rider Kyra Yuill has been booked to replace the injured Lucy Warwick on class galloper Gatting in Saturday’s $160,000 Hyperion Stakes (1600m) at Belmont Park. Warwick severely sprained her right ankle when dislodged from Bank On It while riding him to the start of race three at Belmont yesterday. An X-ray later confirmed Warwick’s ankle was not broken. She hoped to be fit for the Gatting mount, but today agreed to step down from race riding on Saturday. Trainer Darren McAuliffe later engaged Yuill to take over on Gatting, who ran an impressive fourth for Warwick in last Saturday week’s Belmont Sprint (1400m). Yuill has boosted her seasonal winning tally to more than 100 with a series of doubles and a treble at recent city meetings.
