There will be something for everyone in Bunbury this weekend with thrilling extreme sport and a tasty selection of street food set to take over the city.

The Action Sports Games returns to Koombana Bay on Saturday while the Summer Food Truck Festival will keep the hungry mouths of spectators fed.

The games are a combination of wakeboarding, freestyle motocross, skateboarding, BMX and scooters while the food truck event has been sourced from totally local suppliers.

Not to be outdone by the high-flying wakeboard athletes, some of the State’s best freestyle motocross riders will take to the skies at the food truck festival being held at Bicentennial Square.

Event director Tim Thirsk said the action-packed event would see some impressive athletes come to the city, including number two world-ranked wakeboarder Nic Rapa.

“I am thrilled to see that wakeboarding’s young guns are heading to Bunbury to challenge some of the sports seasoned professionals,” Mr Thirsk said.

“It is going to be a super exciting event and I can’t wait to see it all play out.”

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said he was excited such a high calibre event would be held in Bunbury.

“Events that bring such a diverse mix of sports and activities to our city are important for the social and economic fabric of our community,” Mr Brennan said.

“Bunbury is rapidly becoming a location of choice for major events, which has been a major focus for the city and we are sure everyone will welcome the competitors and spectators with open arms.”

The International Wakeboard Tournament kicks off at 8am on Saturday with The Bayview Bar hosting a pop-up stall at the Marlston Waterfront.

The food truck festival will run from 4pm to 8pm.

Rounding the weekend out will be the skateboard, BMX and scooter competition held at the Bunbury skatepark on Sunday.
