A driver appears to have had a lucky escape as motorists were left turning their heads to see the aftermath of a car verse tree in Carey Park overnight.

Police say the crash was called in about 4.40am today, but it was not yet known what time it actually occurred.

The car remains wedged into the big tree, which has snapped in half and come to rest on the vehicle.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Armanta Drive and Brittain Road.

Police say there were no injuries reported and the driver has been advised to make a report online.

The car has a reported sticker on it and is not causing any traffic hazards in the area.
