The Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association’s hopes of qualifying for the 2019 Alcohol Think Again senior country week A-Section grand final were ended by Albany at Charles Veryard Reserve in Perth yesterday.

Chasing 240 for victory, the BDCA were dismissed for 88 off 35.4 overs.

The South West side was in dire straits early at 2-2, following ducks to the Graham Yates and Ricky Marsh.

Leschenault’s Tom Buchanan and Eaton’s Chris Marrow attempted to steady to ship – however even they were powerless to subdue to fearsome south coast onslaught.

Leading Albany’s charge was Coen Marwick, who took 5-26 off 8.4 overs, in yet another brilliant spell of bowling.

Marwick, who had taken 7-30 the day before against Peel, gutted the BDCA’s top and lower order – as his teammates celebrated their looming final against Upper Great Southern at the WACA today.

The BDCA take on Eastern Goldfields at Jubilee Reserve.
