AS the weather heats up Bunbury beachgoers are being asked to listen to the City of Bunbury surf lifesavers.

City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club lifesaving director Richard Banks said most people had been swimming between the flags, but he wanted to remind people to be careful.

Teams of 10 lifesavers have been patrolling Back Beach for the past six weeks and they will be at Koombana Bay when it opens.

Mr Banks said swimming between the flags was the safest way to swim at Back Beach.

“There is a transient gutter as it comes and goes,” he said.

“This Sunday just gone we had a pristine day with no waves whatsoever, but four days prior to that there was a decent swell and it was changing the way the waves were breaking on the shoreline.”
