Marist will look to keep their undefeated status going when they battle the winless Dalyellup Beach at Dalyellup College on Saturday.
The Blues have recorded consecutive wins on the back of two fine performances from Reece O’Connell, who has 10 wickets and 150 runs without being dismissed.
Meanwhile, Dalyellup have just the two points after the abandoned game against Hay Park at the weekend.
Dalyellup captain Paul Jones said O’Connell was in great form, but they did not have specific plans for him.
“We have to minimise his impact, with the ball especially and then target some other bowlers,” he said.
Jones said unless the weather turned in the coming days, the pitch at Dalyellup College would be ready for the game.
“That pitch will be a ripper come Saturday,” he said.
“I am expecting it to be quick. It should have good, even grass coverage.”
Jones said this would suit both Dalyellup speedster Liam Renton as well as Blues’ fast bowlers Ben Shipley and Jack Wilson.
“He (Renton) has been in good form,” he said.
“I’d expect him to be quick as he is the one preparing the pitch.
“Our bowling is our strength so we are facing quality every training session in the nets.
“But we have to be cautious and not take anyone lightly. Shipley has been in good form and Jack has a good short ball.”
Jones said Dalyellup College had confidence heading into the game after defeating Marist in the Twenty20 competition earlier this month.
“They’re top of the ladder for a reason though,” he said.
“They were missing a few players.”
Collie and Leschenault are both looking for their first wins when they battle at Roche Park, while Hay Park will host the undefeated Eaton and Colts have the bye.
