Busselton Bowling Club picked up an impressive quinella at the prestigious Bunbury Ladies Classic carnival on Sunday.

Held at the Bunbury Bowling Club, the carnival has become a staple for more than three decades.

The feel-good story of the event was easily Judy Rice — who along with her teammates, Gail Botting, Sue Blyth and Linda Burgin — tasted victory in special circumstances.

“This is the first time I have ever won a Classic — and I have been coming here for 26 years,” Rice said.

“So thank you, Bunbury, as this really is a sensational Classic to play in. I particularly like the fours and pairs as it makes it very interesting.

“Bunbury really does a great job. We appreciate it and we know what it is like having to run a Classic — it is hard work.

“Thanks as well to all of the girls we played with and met. There were some lovely girls over the two days and we had a lot of fun.”
