BSBL 2023: Opportunity awaits for several sides in upcoming round of club action
Tornadoes Black men’s coach Shane Goff is no stranger to big games.
Well versed on life in the NBL1 West due to his role as head coach of the South West Slammers, you can be sure Goff will have studied tape feverishly ahead of Friday night’s showdown against high-flying Bulls Gold at the South West Sports Centre.
The clear matchwinner in this game is Gold’s livewire Pharell Keats.
Aside from having scored 532 points so far this season, his athleticism and willingness to execute other intangibles has been the difference in many of his side’s victories.
Goff is a big fan of Keats, who has began training with the Slammers over the NBL1 West off-season — although the Tornadoes Black and Slammers boss will be hoping his defence can keep him quiet on Friday night.
Fourth-placed Conquerors, who squeaked past Aces Sky in Margaret River last week, can place further pressure on those around them when they do battle with a stuttering Tornadoes Red.
With an unrivalled playing depth at their disposal, and with so many players prepared to step up each week, Conquerors could be a team to watch in the final month of the campaign.
In the women’s competition, derby action returns, with Aces Sky and Tornadoes Black favoured against Aces Navy and Tornadoes Red respectively.
