BSBL 2023: Tornadoes Black men’s coach Shane Goff confident Eaton Eagles are heading in the right direction

Although proud of his side’s 97-81 win over the Eaton Eagles on Friday night at the South West Sports Centre, Tornadoes Black men’s coach Shane Goff was equally impressed with how all Eagles players served it up to them. One of the Eagles’ key playmakers, Okummu Dech, is no stranger to Goff, who coaches him at NBL1 West level with the South West Slammers. Goff praised Dech’s willingness to play hard and share knowledge with a Bunbury Senior Basketball League men’s team which has struggled on-court for several years. “It just goes to show you what sort of a young man Okummu is,” Goff said. “He’s not someone out for personal glory. Eaton reached out for players and he came in to help — and it shows Okummu’s character to willingly go to a team which hasn’t had great success. “But he’s helping build their club up even more and helping them be successful.
