Bunbury driver stars at SA speedcar titles

Morgan MelvinSouth Western Times

Bunbury speedcar driver Dayne Kingshott kickstarted his assault for national title glory in fine style leading from start to finish to claim victory in the South Australian State Speedcar Championship in Murray Bridge on Saturday Night.

Racing away with two victories in his heat races, Kingshott started from pole position in the 25-Lap main event and was not headed, defeating local Ryan Jones and American Dave Darland.

For Kingshott, the victory comes at the venue which hosts the Australian Speedcar Championship this weekend giving the Kingshott Racing Team a well added boost in a field that boasts four West Australians including former nation champion Neville Lance, New Zealand Speedcar Champion Michael Pickens and recent WA visitor Alex Bright who is from the United States.

The current Western Australian champion now adds the South Australian championship to his long list of accomplishments, including competing in New Zealand and America against some of the world’s best speedcar competitors.
