The Hockeyroos are poised to add further youth into their selection plans when they tackle China in Thursday night’s opening Test match at the Bunbury Hockey Stadium.

Coach Katrina Powell has given several players a taste of International hockey over the past few months — and duo Morgan Gallagher and Tatum Stewart look like being next cabs off the rank.

The Hockeyroos will play three tests in the space of four days against the Chinese, with the remaining two games held in Perth.

A big crowd is expected at the spiritual home of hockey in the South West, with action starting from 6pm.

Included in this throng are likely to be several people from the Great Southern, given the fact Tambellup’s Penny Squibb, a no-nonsense defender, is a core component of the team.
