A packed event saw people from across the South West flock to Hay Park for the annual Bunbury Show at the weekend.

More than 15,000 people attended, to experience the thrill of sideshow alley and feast on an array of treats.

Event organiser Fiona Hinds said the success of the show was evident from visitor feedback.

“I think it went really well,” she said.

“The weather held up for us, and we had some new events in there that went really well.

“Everyone I’ve spoken to said it was amazing. There were also comments on Facebook saying that it was the best show ever.”

Dance enthusiasts were in their element for the World Dance Day celebrations, which Ms Hinds said had proved a smash hit.

“I think it went amazingly – it looked fantastic and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun.

“The fact that everyone went all around the show and picked up on the different groups, I think it was just amazing, we were so happy to have it there and full credit to the girls at Milligan...”

Ms Hinds said she aims to encourage more people from the community to get involved.

“We are always a work in progress and we are always looking at engaging new areas of the community to come along and showcase their work,” she said.

“The show itself is an amalgam of different community events — it’s not just the one show.”
