Burning ban

The Prohibited Burning Period for the Shire of Capel officially started at the weekend, meaning no burning off is permitted until March 15, 2019.

A council spokesman said rapidly drying conditions, coupled with high fuel levels caused by above average winter rain, meant the risk of bushfire had increased.

Bush Fire Prevention Order inspections will take place in December and January.
