Bus driver ‘raped teen’
A primary school bus driver accused of blindfolding and twice raping a 14-year-old girl in the South West faced Bunbury Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Cleve Maynard Pain operates a bus service to and from Kingston Primary School and Leschenault Catholic Primary School.
It is alleged that he met the child on an instant messaging app before arranging to meet her in person this month.
When they did meet, it is alleged that Mr Pain blindfolded the young girl and drove her to an unknown location where he allegedly raped her twice before blindfolding her again and driving her back.
The 51-year-old appeared via video link from Bunbury Regional Prison and with his lawyer on the phone was read out four charges by Magistrate Joe Randazzo.
Mr Pain is charged with sexually penetrating a child of 14 years of age twice at Millbridge on October 8. On that same day, Mr Pain also allegedly used electronic communication with intent to expose a person under the age of 16 years to indecent matter.
About a week later on October 16 at Millbridge, Mr Pain allegedly possessed child exploitation material — category 1 images of children.
No pleas were entered at the court hearing yesterday. He is next due in court on January 11.
