Bushfire in Paradise
Fire crews are currently battling a scrub fire along Damiani Italiano Road in Paradise, allegedly caused by a car being driven without tyres on the rims.
More than 15 crews of bush fire service, volunteer fire and rescue service, career fire and rescue service firefighters are on the scene with several water bombers providing air support.
The fire was called in just after 1pm this afternoon via 000 by a member of the public who spotted small scrub fires along Damiani Italiano Road, with police also receiving calls reporting sparks coming off of the suspect cars’ rims.
Police located the vehicle on the side of Waterloo Road and an elderly man was taken to hospital by for check ups with enquiries to continue.
A Bushfire Advice remains in place for the northern part of Paradise.
