Calling on groups for long lunch

South Western Times

A new round of grants for South West clubs and organisations is up for grabs through Bunbury’s premier food and wine charity event the Chefs’ Long Table Lunch.

Groups willing to take on organising tasks for the 520 guests expected to attend the annual luncheon held on February 25, will be offered grants from $250 to $1500.

Next year’s event will be the 15th annual luncheon, with the committee planning to share the benefits with groups who provide teams of volunteers for tasks such as helping set up marquees and equipment, dressing tables and serving.

Chefs’ Long Table Lunch chairman Doug Green said he appreciated the help from volunteers who returned each year to ensure the success of the event but hoped to encourage more to join next year.

“Over the years, many individuals, clubs and organisations have helped make the lunch a huge success,” he said.

“We are looking to attract additional volunteers. These new grants are a way to help support those clubs and organisations that generously help the Lunch achieve its fundraising goals.”

Groups can register for one task or join with another club to share the grant.

Expressions of interest are open until November 30.

Details are available on www.chefslongtable.com.au or by calling beneficiary coordinator Jan Pedersen on 0448 259 882.

Tickets for the 2018 event are now available on the website.
