Caltsounis spears Eaton to a dominant victory
Eaton fast bowler Clayton Caltsounis destroyed a lowly Collie batting line-up, taking seven wickets to lead the Beavers to an eight-wicket win at Roche Park on Saturday.
Caltsounis took 7-16 from 10 overs to bowl Collie out for just 46 runs, before Eaton’s top order made light work of the run chase.
The big left-arm seamer was in no mood to field for long, taking the wickets of Tom Plummer (0) and Bailey Moloney (0) in his first five balls.
Blair Malatesta (5), Fraser Hislop (14), Greg Tomasini (5), Mark Williams (0) and Ayden Parkin (0) were all victims of a rampaging Caltsounis, who was economical as well as dangerous with the ball.
Steve Barron (1-22 off 10 overs) grabbed the wicket of Seth White (0), while Jacob Van Bavel dismissed Jason Borrett (10) and James Hillery also grabbed a scalp, when he had Matt Tanner (2) caught by Mick Rogers.
Eaton opener Don Seaman went out swinging for Eaton, belting 24 runs from just 18 balls before he was caught by Ryan Loxton off the bowling of Borrett (2-22 off four overs).
Matt Davies (1) also fell victim to Borrett, but unfortunately for Collie this would be their last wicket as Rogers (5 not out) and Hillery (16 not out) got Eaton past the total in the eighth over.
