Capel Shire Council called a special meeting yesterday for an urgent review of chief executive officer Ian McCabe’s performance, which was later adjourned.

The review was scheduled for July but shire president Michael Southwell said an urgent review was required.

The meeting began at 5.30pm before the gallery was asked to leave for a behind closed door discussion before being asked to re-enter the gallery to witness the council vote.

Members were then asked to leave the gallery again only to return to be told the meeting had been adjourned until further notice.
