Chamber pushes shop local policy

With just over a week to go until Christmas, it is expected that shoppers will start to finalise their Christmas lists and the community is being encouraged to give local shops a go first.

Bunbury Chamber of Commerce and Industries chief executive officer Ray Philp said before heading out of the South West or hitting the online shopping, people should give the local retailers a go.

“There is a percentage of people who think that going elsewhere it will be cheaper, but that is not necessarily the case,” he said.

“We have great places to shop in the South West, from the Ferguson Valley to the many shopping centres in and around Bunbury.

“We want to remind people that we do have everything here and there is great choice available.”
