There is little more than a couple of weeks left until The Naked Wanderer, a film shot almost exclusively in the South West, makes its world premiere at CinefestOZ.

Director and co-producer Alan Lindsay said he was greatly looking forward to the premiere, with two theatres at Grand Cinemas Bunbury already booked up and talk of a third being allocated.

“It’s a brilliant premiere,” he said. “CinefestOZ and the distributors have pulled out all the stops, it’s great.”

The Naked Wanderer will follow the story of a man who decides to walk from one end of WA to the other for charity after his girlfriend dumps him, only to fall in love with a beautiful backpacker he meets along the way.

With more than 80 per cent of finished cut shot here in the South West, Mr Lindsay said the region was pretty much perfect to shoot in, having filmed off Koombana Bay, Back Beach, Casuarina Boat Harbour, Cathedral Avenue and Boyanup.

Cary Park man Alan Little will star as Eli, one of the many characters the wanderer will meet on his journey, and said it was amazing to be part of a movie filmed in his home town.

“The family’s all excited, they’re all going to come to the movie ... it’s pretty boss,” he said.

The Naked Wanderer will premiere at Grand Cinemas Bunbury on August 30, starring Angus McLaren and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, both of whom will be attending the event.
