Collie Business Connections event at Collie Rotary Club a forum on harnessing the power of major events

Collie businesses have been given tips on how to leverage major events at a networking event. The Collie Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted its latest Business Connections with the Collie Rotary Club. More than 40 attendees took part in a workshop designed to equip the town’s businesses and community with strategies to leverage significant events, such as the AusCycling MTB Enduro National and Oceania Championships set to take place in October. Participants engaged with members of the Collie Rotary Club and Lumenesse & Co’s Madeline Arnold, who was the guest speaker. CCCI chief executive Tara van Beuningen thanked the club and Collie Ridge Resort for hosting and the guest speakers for providing insights. Collie Rotary Club representative John Bylund said the organisation looked forward to future collaborations with the chamber. “It was a wonderful opportunity to host the Business Connections with the CCCI, and learn more about, how we as a community, can leverage and support events coming to Collie,” he said. “There were lots of positive discussions and ideas shared throughout the evening.” The connections event was made possible through support from Workforce Australia Local Jobs, with employment facilitator Kate Monaghan highlighting the benefits of the event. “This event worked to foster collaboration among Collie businesses, this paves the way for potential economic growth and an increase in opportunities for local employment and training,” she said.
