A bowling masterclass by powerful Colts seamer Josh Topliss was the catalyst for his side’s 10-wicket victory over Dalyellup Beach at Dalyellup College on Sunday.

Topliss took 4-18 from just six overs, sending Dalyellup packing for just 54 runs after they won the toss and elected to bat.

Wickets tumbled consistently for Dalyellup Beach, with Topliss removing both openers in Ben Lagana (one run) and Tim Cooper (three) before making light work of Paul Jones (one) and having Adam Bilston trapped in front for a duck.

Fellow opening bowler Jake Boyle chipped in with two wickets in his eight overs, while Ethan Kelly (2-9 off four overs) and Jack Wilson (2-10 off four overs) helped clean up the tail.

Corey Fagan was the only Dalyellup batsman to reach double figures, scoring 10 as his side were bowled out in the 22nd over.

Young batsmen Connor Ipsen and Jayden Goodwin made light work of the target, chasing it down in just 11 overs.

Goodwin top scored for the match with 28 runs, while Ipsen finished with 26 in the 55-run partnership.

The double-bonus point victory has Colts five points clear of Eaton on the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association ladder and the dominant win has their percentage at 1.97, the highest in the competition.
