In-form Colts will be without two of their premium bowlers on Saturday at the Bunbury Recreation Ground, when they entertain fellow top four hopefuls Leschenault.

Skipper Josh Topliss, who injured a hamstring during an impressive win over Marist in round eight, is unlikely to be available for the remainder of 2021 — while spinner Adrian Abbott is also set for a stint on the sidelines due to a calf-related issue.

However with no shortage of depth in second grade, Topliss does not have far to look when selecting replacements.

Regardless of who suits up for the home side, the match will be an excellent challenge for the Green Caps, who have been improving steadily over the past month.

Despite going down by four wickets against Eaton last Saturday, Matt Fink’s side more than held their own.

Once again, opening seamers Jacob Templeton and Brody D’Agostino were able to put rival batters on the back foot — in particular Templeton, who snared 2-3 in his first two overs against the Bobtails.

The Green Caps spinners — including Shehzad Gondal and Matthew Bowles — have also been in good touch recently against quality opposition, which is a trend Fink will no doubt hope they can replicate on Saturday.
