Looking for a group to join, or an event to attend. Here’s a quick list of what on in the next seven days in our community.

Women’s lunch

Capel Golf Club will be hosting a women’s Christmas lunch on December 14 from 12pm.

All past and present members are welcome and are asked to bring along a plate to share and a $10 gift to exchange.

Seniors’ party

Harvey Senior Citizens Centre will be holding a Christmas lunch on December 15 from 9.30am.

There will be door prizes, entertainment and a raffle, with juices, nibbles and a meal included with tickets.

Guests also have the option to bring a $7 gift to exchange at the party.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from the centres office before December 9.

Bunbury jumble sale

The Salvation Army’s last Jumble Sale for the year will take place on December 17 from 7.30am to 10am at the Salvation Army Church and Community Centre in South Bunbury.

All are welcome to browse the great deals on offer, with jumble sales regularly occurring on the third Saturday of every month. For more information, call 9791 5200.

Leschenault Lady

The South West Rail and Heritage Centre in Boyanup will be paying tribute to the Leschenault Lady from 10am- 2pm on December 18.

The day will feature talks about the history of the iconic locomotive and the restoration work currently being carried out.

Entry is by donation and light refreshments will be available from a picnic van.

South West Harley Davidson is organising a Christmas Toy Run leaving from the Capel Community Centre at 10am on December 18.

Riders are encouraged to bring along toys, non-perishable foods or monetary donations to hand over at the final destination, the Salvation Army Depot on Timperley Road.

If you want to donate toys without participating in the ride, drop off points include Harvey Norman, Bunbury Bendigo Bank, Capel and Southwest Harley Davidson.

The convoy will travel along Maidment Parade and Parade Road in Dalyellup for those hoping to watch the ride.

Adam Road anniversary

Adam Road Primary School will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2017 with an Open Day on March 12 from 10am until 2pm.

They are seeking memorabilia, anecdotes and photos for display, from past and present teachers, staff and students.

Traditional trades

THE South West Rail and Heritage Centre will hold a Traditional Trades Day on April 23 and is looking for expressions of interest from craftspeople, artisans and skilled tradespeople.

Vendors can demonstrate their particular skills and sell their products to the public.

Spaces are offered free of charge and the sale of products does not attract a commission.

With the weather warming up and the sunshine coming out, Bunbury Central Croquet Club is inviting people to join them for a game.

The club is located at Cobblestone Drive, Queen Gardens and plays socially or competitively.

Groups can come along to give the game a go for special occasions, or singles can try their hand at the sport.

Games are open for those aged 10 years or older.

BelCanto Singers

Bunbury BelCanto Singers welcomes newcomers to their Tuesday evening practice at St Augustine’s Community Centre, 119 Mangles Street, Bunbury.

Newcomers can attend three rehearsals free of charge, with further information available by calling Judyth on 0407 748 006.

I-Scene Social Group

I-scene Social Group is a not-for-profit organisation that looks to encourage 50 to 70-year-olds to progress from isolation at home to socialising.

They offer company and outings that can benefit mental physical well-being.

Gambler’s Anonymous

Gambler’s Anonymous meetings are held every Wednesday at 7.30pm at Milligan House in Bunbury.

The meetings are a support system for gamblers who want to stop gambling, with all welcome.

Red Cross Volunteers

Australian Red Cross is seeking volunteers to help with the Community Visitors Scheme.

Trained volunteers will be matched with an isolated elderly person living in the community or an aged care facility to make a regular social visit.

Bunbury Mixers Group

Bingo nights

Bunbury United Soccer Club hold Bingo Nights each Wednesday at their clubrooms on Parade Road from 6.30pm with eyes down at 7.30pm.

Bar and canteen facilities are available, with group booking and social groups very welcome.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau of Bunbury is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to connect people with information and services to make independent and informed decisions.

The bureau provides free information and referrals, low-cost legal advice and document service, as well as a JP service, seasonal tax service and referrals to appropriate government agencies.

The Citizens Advice Bureau is located at 1 Stirling Street Bunbury and is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 2pm.
