Sporting and non-profit groups in the Shire of Dardanup are being encouraged to throw their hat in the ring for financial assistance.

The second round of applications for the shire’s community and events grants have now opened, with local community groups eligible to apply.

Grants from $500 to $5000 are on offer for projects and events that benefit the Shire of Dardanup.

Shire president Tyrrell Gardiner said previous grant recipients used funding to upgrade group equipment and improve community spaces.

“These grants, available at three levels of support, aim to foster the distinctiveness of community spaces, activate public areas, build community skills and capacity, leave a lasting positive impact, promote accessibility and inclusivity, and empower groups to be proactive in the community,” he said.

“A wide range of local community champions have already received a financial boost through the grants scheme, and your club could be next! Whether it’s a small-scale project or a community-wide initiative, we are here to support you.”

Application forms can be found on the Shire’s website and applications close on February 12.
