Country Women’s Association donations boost Bunbury groups’ efforts
The Country Women’s Association Bunbury rallied together to present donations to several community groups on Tuesday.
CWA Bunbury branch president Karen Parrick presented a representative from Grow South West, Zonta Club Bunbury, Choose Respect Bunbury and the mother of a local teenager who was diagnosed with autism and is exploring his art journey, with a donation of $100 each to go towards future projects.
Ms Parrick said it was important the association did its part to support the wider community where possible.
“We put the word out and each group or individual wrote a letter as to why they should receive a donation,” she said.
“Then we voted on each at our meeting to decide where we would donate.
We usually work to donate back into the community because it’s something that is important to us as a group.
The four group representatives thanked CWA Bunbury for the donations and each said it would come in handy for upcoming plans and initiatives in the community.
Zonta Club Bunbury president Diane Tate said she was appreciative of the donation, which would go a long way for the club in its breast cushion initiative.
“Making breast cushions is a big project of ours and this will go towards buying the materials and things we need for our next bunch,” she said.
