A Dalyellup family is now $1 million better off after coming forward to claim a division one Monday Lotto prize last week.

The winning Slikpik 18 ticket was sold from Dalyellup News and Lotteries and was the family’s second Lotto win after they won $15,000 several years ago.

“We were at the shops and decided to check our ticket, but it didn’t show the prize,” the winner said.

“The man at the shop told us, ‘well, you have won Division One!’.”

That man was Dalyellup News and Lotteries owner Glen Fraser, who said this was the first time he had sold a division one winning ticket since opening the news agency in October, 2015.

“I was so happy for them,” he said.

“It’s good to see people win that sort of money, especially from our shop.”

The winning family said they would say a prayer before they bought a ticket and planned to spend the prize on a holiday after paying off the mortgage.

“For the big family trip up (to claim the prize) we had Billionaire sung by Bruno Mars on,” they said.

The South West and WA’s good luck did not continue this week however, with one lucky player in New South Wales winning the entirety of Tuesday night’s $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

Mr Fraser said he hoped the win would be the first of many.

The next chance to win big will come tonight with the $12 million Powerball draw.
