Dardanup Heritage Park print shop celebrates 10 years

South Western Times

The Dardanup Heritage Park print shop recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The shop was set up in 2009 to allow people to step back in time to see an original Linotype print machine in action.

Laurie O’Connell worked at the South Western Times as a qualified operator of a similar machine during the 1950s and 1960s.

He took it upon himself to re-engage with the press by calling on former workmates to help keep the memory of old-style printing alive.
