Double jeopardy

The Perkins Builders South West Slammers men’s team should find out tomorrow if they are suiting up this weekend. Should mask restrictions be lifted from Saturday morning, the Slammers would face the Warwick Senators on the road that night, before backing up the following night against the Rockingham Flames at home. Slammers assistant coach Aaron Edwards told the South Western Times although games’ status may be up in the air, elements within weekly training sessions had remained the same. Another thing welcomed at practice this week has been the involvement of new arrival Ngor Nai, who has already made a positive impact on the group. “From a group perspective, he is one of the boys already,” Edwards said. “He is a young guy with a great personality and has seemed to fit in really quickly. “Now it is just a matter of running through our sets and getting him on the same page as all of the boys on the court.” Nai has also displayed quality intangibles, which have been well received by the Slammers coaching staff. “At the moment, I like how he is showing great effort already,” Edwards said. “He has held himself to account and he has not taken a backward step to any player. “He has also shown he is a bit of a leader, so in all of that, I think he will fit in to the team and we will get it all going on the same page.”
