Dalyellup Surf Life Saving Club’s new facilities are set to be furnished and fully kitted out in time for summer.

Bunbury MLA Don Punch today announced more than $41,000 in Lotterywest funding to buy and install all of the necessary furniture and equipment.

The club has been operating out of sea containers for the past 15 years but has become one of the fastest growing surf lifesaving clubs in the State.

“There has been a core of people from the DSLSC who have worked tirelessly for years to secure the facilities the club deserves and I would like to both congratulate them and thank them for their hard work,” Mr Punch said.

“This is a very deserving community organisation and I am really happy Lotterywest has recognised this and provided this grant.

“It is beyond time that they have appropriate facilities to support the provision of those services.”

Mr Punch will present club members with the funds tomorrow afternoon at the new DSLSC clubrooms.
