Dynamos all over Australind

South Western Times

Goals from Jake O’Brien, skipper Greg Hayes and Mike McKenna against Australind either side of half-time gave Dynamos a 3-0 win at Forrest Park on Sunday afternoon in the South West Soccer Association Premier League.

An interesting 90 minutes of soccer entertained a good crowd with Dynamos opening their account at the 24th minute mark with youngster O’Brien heading home from a melee in the box.

Australind goalkeeper Ethan Carpenter made several saves in the first five minutes, as Dynamos attacked but were held at bay by pacy Blues defender Dave Laycock and his colleagues.

Dynamos peppered the Blues ‘keeper from the resumption with midfield man-of-the-match, Hayes and veteran Mike McKenna scoring goals within two minutes of each other.

Australind recovered from the “one-two” to keep the marauding Dynamos at bay for the rest of the match with defender Josh Cruikshank and ‘keeper Jordan Barclay prominent in the sporadic Blues raids.

Dunborough’s Tim Pidgeon slotted a hat-trick against Busselton in a 3-1 win. Josh Atherton and Paul Madondo were on target against Hay Park’s Jordan Whitehead in the Rangers’ 2-1 win over Hay Park.

This Sunday is SWSA Cup quarter-finals day with Busselton at home to Australind, Dalyellup taking on Hay Park and Dynamos against Dunsborough with Bunbury United through to the semi-final.
