Dunsborough Oilers breathed new life into the Bunbury Basketball Association’s A-Women finals race after recording a stirring 82-74 round 12 win over Tornadoes Red on Friday night.

Led superbly by Adele East who hit a game-high 38 points, the visitors gradually gained control after being engaged in an arm-wrestle for the opening quarter and a half.

With a one point lead in their pockets, the Oilers went on a 6-0 offensive run spanning nearly 90 seconds which gave them a solid buffer, which they would hold until deep in the third quarter.

Trailing 50-41, Red turned the tables with six unanswered scoring plays, hitting the lead after Kate Fielding sunk her free throw from the charity stripe.

That deficit was then sliced by East, who confidently drained a three to wrest momentum back for her teammates.

Tornadoes Black bounced back from their loss against sister side Red at the end of 2018, to record a convincing 59-42 win over Aces Sky.

In A-Men action, Bulls continued their march at the top of the table after cruising 97-56 over Eaton, while Aces Sky and Tornadoes Black also recorded victory over Tornadoes Red and Aces White respectively.
