The Eaton Foreshore boat ramp will receive more than $150,000 in upgrades as the only Greater Bunbury boating facility set to benefit from the latest round of State Government funding.

The boat ramp and jetties will be upgraded to allow two-wheel-drive access, the finger jetty will be extended and a floating berthing platform installed thanks to $157,965 in Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme funding.

Nine projects across the State worth $1.5 million secured funding in the round.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said she looked forward to seeing Dardanup Shire Council making progress on the project.

“Upgrading recreational boating facilities adds to the amenity of communities close to WA’s beautiful waterways and in some cases assist with local tourism and employment,” Ms Saffioti said.

“Boating and fishing is a way of life for many Western Australians and these grants are an acknowledgement of that local culture.”
