Members of the Eaton Senior Citizens Club will soon have a new stomping ground thanks a $1 million boost from the State Government.

A project to transform Eaton Bowling Club into a new mixed-use community hub and provide a shared space for local events and activities has been in the works since 2017.

The additional funding will enable the State Government to expand the $2 million project and revitalise the 57-year-old bowling club.

With concept plans now being finalised, a larger function room, new facade and a space for the Eaton Senior Citizens Club are a few of the many upgrades to the facility.

Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray said the cash boost would help create a central hub for the community members in Eaton.

“The $1 million boost to this project will enable us to build an entirely new facility to support the many community, sport and volunteering groups active in the Eaton area,” he said.

Transforming the bowling club into a community hub with modern facilities will make it more attractive to a wider range of users and community and revitalise the club itself.

Dardanup Shire Council has led the planning process over the past year and president Mick Bennett said he was excited to see this project come together.
