The final countdown to the 2019 Chefs’ Long Table Charity Lunch started on Wednesday when the tents were erected at the Pat Usher Foreshore.

Event chairwoman Ellen House said watching the tents go up was always exciting and almost a sigh of relief.

“It’s a realisation that we’re there, we’ve made it,” she said.

“It’s really exciting but also frightening that it is all coming together, which it has exceptionally well... it’s literally rising out of the ground.”

More than 500 people are set to be treated to an eight-course banquet on Sunday, a banquet bolstered by what event chairman David Dorsett-Lyn described as the best menu to date.

This year’s event will sport a new, refreshed layout designed to appear more welcoming to guests as they arrive and make the most of the grassed venue.

Event logistical coordinator Adrian Pike said the new layout would be fantastic and everything had come together like a dream.

“It’s going to be a great event and I think one of the best ones we’ve had over the past 15 years,” he said

Tickets for the event are available at www.chefslongtable.com.au.

“You’ll need to get in very quick ... I agree with Adrian, it will be one of the best Tables we’ve ever put together,” Mrs House said.
