Pops of colour and elegant boaters will be on show for the annual Melbourne Cup meeting at the Bunbury Turf Club today.

The event is expected to draw a big crowd and all eyes will be on those taking part in the fashions on the field event.

CM Model Management and fashions on the field coordinator Tamara Dimov said this year’s Melbourne Cup would see lots of bright colours.

“It is all about the pops of colour and lots of bold prints,” Ms Dimov said.

“The girls are dressed by Hush Hire South West, so you can hire your dresses for the races which is great because we can’t all afford these expensive dresses sometimes.”

“Metallic is coming back in and a little bit of sparkle — but not too much.”

Ms Dimov said CM Model management models Giselle Taylor and Zasiah Ietto were styled by Bunbury businesses.

“Giselle is in a Nicola Finetti dress from Hush Hire South West, her hat is from Shoe Be Do and her hair is done by CT Salon,” she said.

“Zasiah is in Hush Hire as well, in a stunning Steph Audino gown she has also got the Morgan & Taylor crown jewel and hair is by CT Salon.

“It is all about jewelled crowns, boaters, embellished clips are popular and also big bows.”

Ms Dimov said she was thrilled to see the women and men all dressed up for the occasion.

“I love seeing the ladies just go that extra mile and the outfits and how they coordinate everything,” she said. “I also love seeing the men getting dressed up too — let’s not forget the men.

“We have fashions on the field at 12.45pm and that’s open for those 18 years and older. There will be plenty of great prizes up for grabs so everyone should come along and just enjoy the day.”

The Bunbury Turf Club gates are open from 10am until 5.30pm.
