The South West Firebirds face a massive test away in Perth on Sunday afternoon, when they travel to UWA Nedlands FC.

Although unbeaten, Stephen Suttie’s side have two games in hand over the Hyundai women’s State league leaders, which makes this contest at UWA Sports Park so crucial.

Both sides have already met once at the venue this season, with the Firebirds coming from 2-0 down to pinch a 3-2 win back in April.

Closer to home, South West Soccer Association women’s premier league leaders Hay Park United were humbled 2-1 by second-bottom Australind, with Mary Huxtable securing the winning goal from the penalty spot.
