After impressing on the training track, Dunsborough’s Reuben Ginbey will be making his AFL debut when the West Coast Eagles face off against North Melbourne this weekend.

The Eagles revealed on Tuesday the 18-year-old will be one of three youngsters selected to make their debut at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, alongside Campbell Chesser and Noah Long.

It will be the first time in their history the Eagles have fielded three teenage debutants in the same match.

Aside from last year’s COVID-affected line-up that played the Kangaroos, the last time West Coast played three debutants together was in round one, 2018, when Liam Ryan, Jake Waterman and Daniel Venables were unveiled in the opening AFL game at Optus Stadium.

Last year’s top draftee Ginbey was almost an automatic selection after an impressive summer on the track and a 17-disposal, six-clearance performance against Adelaide in a pre-season clash less than a fortnight ago.
