Galleries set to come alive
Nature’s beauty will be on full display when the Flower Designers Club of Bunbury opens its annual Blooming Art Exhibition at 2pm today.
The exhibition, to be hosted at the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, is anticipated to attract more than 1000 people over four days.
Exhibition coordinator Eileen Wenn said this year’s living art pieces centred around a “bedtime” theme.
“The centrepiece is done by club members and it’s a bedtime theme this year, so obviously we are having a floral bed with everything in flowers,” she said.
“It attracts people of all ages, from young families with children to teenagers, middle-aged people and the oldies – they all come and love it.”
Nine “blooming artists” have been invited as special guests this year, who will conduct interpretations of nine paintings from the City Collection.
There will also be a designer of the year competition which Ms Wenn said would fill the gallery with entries.
